Description   EN

This cache is near "Bodmin Pill" ,named after the Bodmin merchants who shipped goods through here centuries ago. Locally it`s known as "Sawmills Creek". The simplest route to it is to park at Golant & walk uphill from "The Fisherman`s Arms" turning left at the Saint`s Way marker post. Follow the fairly level path round Golant Downs. Ahead you will see Number 8 dock at Fowey, here china clay is loaded onto small freighters. When you reach the creek you will see the old sawmill through the trees. In the late 1960s this was the home of author Denys Val Baker who wrote a book about his family`s time here (Life Up The Creek). The building later bacame a recording studio where many famous musicians have recorded their work. This is where Oasis recorded their "Definitely Maybe" album. Muse, Supergrass & Razorlight have been among the other visitors. It is only accessible by boat or on foot.

After finding the cache, either retrace your steps to Golant or look for the steps ascending the north side of the valley. These lead up to the alternative high path back to your starting point. The cache can also be reached along the Saints Way route heading north from Fowey.

The cache is on public access land in the valley behind the creek. You are looking for a "HEAVILY DISGUISED" screwtop cylinder. As the cache is in a wooded valley expect your GPS reception to be weak, especially if using one of the older designs. This is not an easy cache and may require some time & effort to track down!

This cache was hidden in 2006 and is also listed at gc.com. I`ve decided to crosslist this one as it`s an unusual cache.

Quick and easy cache, found fairly quickly although the gps sent me in completely the wrong direction to begin with. TFTC.
